Terms & Conditions

Last updated: 26 Aug 2026

These Terms & Conditions govern your use of vipassanaathome.org and your purchase of any courses, sessions, or services offered by Vipassana at Home, operated by Wen Shen Reimar Friedrich Scholz, Altonaer Str 66, 20357 Hamburg, Germany ("we," "us"). By purchasing a course or session, or using this site, you agree to these terms.

1. What we offer

We provide online meditation courses (including the 30-Day Foundations Course, 10-Day Home Retreat, Somatic Insight Training, and Satipatthana & Shunyata), one-to-one meditation mentorship, a free introductory guide, and community meditation sessions. Course content, formats, and schedules are described on the relevant pages of this site and may be updated from time to time.

2. Payment

Payments are processed securely via Stripe or PayPal. Prices are as stated on the relevant course or service page at the time of purchase.

3. Digital course access and your right of withdrawal

The 30-Day Foundations Course provides immediate, self-paced digital access upon purchase. Under EU consumer law, you would normally have a 14-day right to withdraw from an online purchase. By purchasing this course, you expressly request that we begin providing you access immediately, and you acknowledge that you thereby lose this right of withdrawal once you begin accessing the course content.

4. Refunds and cancellations

  • 30-Day Foundations Course: Because this course provides immediate access, no refunds are given once you've begun accessing the content, except at our discretion in special circumstances. If you believe your situation warrants an exception, please email reimar@vipassanaathome.org.

  • Live courses (10-Day Home Retreat, Somatic Insight Training, Satipatthana & Shunyata): No refunds or cancellations once registered, except at our discretion in special circumstances. Please email reimar@vipassanaathome.org to discuss your situation.

  • 1:1 Mentorship: Sessions are paid upfront. If you're not satisfied and haven't yet taken a paid session, that session will be refunded. Sessions already taken are non-refundable.

  • Scholarship and reduced-fee arrangements, where offered, are handled individually and are not covered by the above.

5. Age requirement

You must be 18 or older to purchase a course or book a session. If you are under 18, you may participate only with the consent and involvement of a parent or legal guardian.

6. Not a substitute for medical or psychological treatment

Our courses, sessions, and content are educational and intended to support meditation practice. They are not a substitute for medical, psychiatric, or psychological treatment. Meditation can sometimes bring up difficult emotions or sensations; if you have a history of mental health conditions or are currently in treatment, please consult a qualified professional before beginning practice, and always use your own judgement about what feels appropriate for you. Participation in any course, session, or community activity is at your own discretion and risk.

7. Intellectual property

All course materials, guided meditations, written content, and the free guide are the intellectual property of Wen Shen Reimar Friedrich Scholz / Vipassana at Home. They are provided for your personal, non-commercial use only. You may not copy, redistribute, resell, or publicly share this content without our written permission.

8. Limitation of liability

We provide our courses and services with care, but to the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from your use of our courses, content, or services. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be excluded under German or EU law (e.g. for gross negligence, wilful misconduct, or injury to life, body, or health).

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The "last updated" date above reflects the most recent version. Continued use of our services after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

10. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by German law. The EU Online Dispute Resolution platform is available at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr for resolving disputes, though we're happy to be contacted directly first at reimar@vipassanaathome.org.
